Suzuki Philippines is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan. The company formally entered the Philippine market in February 1985 with the creation of Suzuki Philippines Inc. Suzuki made a name for itself in the Philippine market by selling small compact vehicles, with popular units such as the Jimny and the Swift. The brand also has 73 dealerships nationwide, making it easy for customers and owners to see and service their vehicles.
Suzuki’s current lineup of vehicles includes the Swift, Dzire, Jimny, Vitara, Celerio, Alto, Ciaz, Ertiga, and APV. The Japanese carmaker also sells commercial vehicles, such as the Super Carry, Carry, and a commercial vehicle variant of the APV.
Suzuki discontinued the SX4 and the Kizashi from the Philippine market. These vehicles were either pulled out or discontinued due to poor sales globally. The Grand Vitara also made way for the smaller and more youthful Vitara, which has been one of Suzuki’s best-seller in the country.
Suzuki recently launched a new variant of the Dzire dubbed the GA as well as the new Carry onto the market. The Carry serves as the company’s small entry-level commercial vehicle that is powered by the same engine as the Jimny. The GA Dzire, on the other hand, serves as an entry variant to the Dzire. It loses out on a couple of power features like windows and a tachometer but still retains the same safety features.
Suzuki has four official trim levels that vary from vehicle to vehicle. An example of this would be the Dzire. The subcompact sedan has three trim levels. The first is the GA which serves as the entry-level trim. GL and GL+ represent the mid-level variant. The GLX is Suzuki’s top-tier trim, which gets better overall features than the rest of the range.
